Litigation Paralegal
Position Summary
- Paralegals at our firm provide essential support to our attorneys, assisting in the preparation of legal documents and trial preparation.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Maintaining, organizing, storing, and retrieving case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items in client files.
- Conducting legal research such as analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; providing written analysis to attorneys.
- Assisting in trial preparation, such as attending trials and hearings, interviewing clients and preparing summaries of their statements
Qualifications
- Paralegal certification or experience in personal injury law are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
