Leah Rhodes
Attorney
Leah Rhodes was born and raised in upstate New York to a family of classical musicians and moved to Louisiana to pursue a degree in music performance at Louisiana State University. After graduation from LSU with a degree in Oboe performance, she attended Tulane Law School, where she served as an administrative justice of the Moot Court Board and treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.
She began her legal career as a litigator handling and trying cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and property damage in the maritime, offshore, oil and gas and transportation industries, including claims arising under the Jones Act, LHWCA and Title 23. Leah has litigated cases in both state and federal courts from the initial phases through the appellate process. She prides herself in providing the same level of care for her clients that she would give to her friends and family members.
Leah spent the first part of her litigation career working in prominent New Orleans maritime defense firms, where she gained experience and insight into how injury, property and workers’ compensation claims are defended, as well as how insurance coverage operates in the claims process. She has also used the experience she gained in those roles to serve as a neutral for the Federal Courts of Appeal. She is an experienced mediator. Leah joined the Chopin Law Firm so that she can put her knowledge and experience to use helping those who are injured through the negligence of others.
Outside of the office, Leah enjoys spending time with her family, including her miniature dachshund Roux, as well as reading and cooking.
