The Chopin Law Firm is Sleeping Out!
On November 19th, I am sleeping on the street – as an act of solidarity with nearly one million homeless and at-risk youth across the nation and here in New Orleans. This "Sleep Out" event is organized by Covenant House, which has provided a safe haven for homeless and at-risk youth (ages 16-22) for the past 30 years, touching the lives of over 20,000 abused & neglected kids. In addition to food, clothing, and short & long-term housing, they provide medical & behavioral healthcare, individual & family counseling, job training & placement, educational assistance, and life skills. Over the past four years, their average daily census has grown from 45 to 139 kids per night. The Cowen Institute estimates there are 26,000 at-risk youth on the streets of New Orleans alone. These kids come from broken homes; many have endured physical and/or sexual abuse and simply have nowhere else to turn.
Just like a fundraising walk, as a Sleep Out participant, I have set a goal to raise $1,000.00. If you would like, you can make a tax deductible donation (any little bit helps!) to my Sleep Out campaign - by clicking this link to my profile page:
If you would like to support me and the Covenant House mission in some other way, please share information about Covenant House, or the video link in this email, on social media.
Thank you for your support!
